Delicious and flavorful Baked Turkey Wings seasoned with a blend of smoked paprika, garlic, onion, and herbs, then slow-baked in broth until tender and crispy. Perfect for a hearty, comforting meal that's easy to prepare with minimal hands-on time.

Ingredients

Turkey Wings

  • 3 portions turkey wings (separated to make 9 pieces)

Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Other Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or turkey broth)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and position a rack in the middle of the oven for even heat circulation.
  2. Prepare Spice Mix: In a bowl, combine the salt, smoked paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme to create a flavorful seasoning blend.
  3. Marinate Wings: Place the separated turkey wing pieces in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, then dredge them thoroughly in the spice mixture. Let them marinate for at least 5 minutes, or up to 30 minutes for deeper flavor absorption.
  4. Arrange in Baking Dish: Transfer the seasoned turkey wings to a baking dish. Pour the chicken or turkey broth evenly around the wings to keep them moist during baking.
  5. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with foil to trap steam and bake the wings in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, allowing them to cook through and become tender.
  6. Crisp and Finish: Remove the foil cover and continue to bake the wings uncovered. This will let the skin crisp up beautifully and turn golden. Bake until the internal temperature of the wings reaches 165°F (74°C) to ensure they are fully cooked and safe to eat.

Notes

  • Separating the turkey wings into smaller pieces ensures even cooking and a crispier skin.
  • You can substitute chicken broth if turkey broth is not available.
  • Marinating times can be adjusted depending on your schedule, but even a short 5-minute marination enhances flavor.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness to avoid overcooking and drying out the wings.
