A refreshing and vibrant Blue Raspberry Lemonade combining tart freshly squeezed lemons with sweet blue raspberry syrup and a hint of color, perfect for a cool summer drink or any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Main Drink

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
  • 1 tablespoon blue raspberry flavoring syrup
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Blue food coloring (optional, for a deeper blue color)
  • Ice

Garnish

  • Fresh raspberries
  • Lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Make Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved to form a simple syrup. Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Mix Lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, the blue raspberry flavoring syrup, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir thoroughly to blend all ingredients evenly.
  3. Add Color: Optionally, add a few drops of blue food coloring to the lemonade to deepen its blue hue. Start with a small amount and add gradually until you reach the desired color intensity.
  4. Adjust Sweetness: Taste your lemonade and adjust sweetness or dilution if needed by adding more sugar or water to suit your preference.
  5. Chill: Refrigerate the blue raspberry lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and serve chilled.
  6. Serve: When ready, fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled lemonade over the ice cubes.
  7. Garnish: Add fresh raspberries and a lemon slice to each glass for a decorative and flavorful touch.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of blue raspberry syrup according to sweetness preference.
  • Blue food coloring is optional and purely for enhancing visual appeal.
  • This lemonade is best served chilled but can be shaken with ice for quick cooling.
  • For a sparkling version, substitute some or all of the cold water with club soda just before serving.
