This Blueberry Overnight Oats recipe blends rolled oats, frozen blueberries, yogurt, and milk into a creamy batter, layered with fresh blueberries and topped with melted dark chocolate for a delicious and nutritious grab-and-go breakfast that requires no cooking.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats (Approx. 240g)
  • ½ cup milk of choice (Any plant-based or dairy milk; approx. 125ml)
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries (Approx. 150g)
  • 1 cup thick natural or Greek yogurt (I use soy; approx. 250g)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (Approx. 8g)
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup (Optional; approx. 5–10g)
  • ⅛ tsp salt (Approx. 0.25g)

Toppings

  • 1 cup blueberries (Fresh or frozen)
  • 80 g dark chocolate (Melted and slightly cooled)
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil (Optional; helps thin chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender: Combine rolled oats, milk, frozen blueberries, yogurt, vanilla extract, optional maple syrup, and salt in a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high power until the mixture is smooth and creamy, resembling a thick batter.
  3. Prepare Jars: Distribute fresh or frozen blueberries evenly into four jars or containers.
  4. Pour Oat Mixture: Pour the blended oat batter over the blueberries in each jar and gently smooth the tops for an even surface.
  5. Melt Chocolate Topping: If using, mix melted dark chocolate with coconut oil until fully combined, then pour this chocolate layer over each jar's oat mixture.
  6. Refrigerate to Set: Seal the jars and refrigerate for at least 1½ hours or preferably overnight to allow the oats to soften and the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve Chilled: Enjoy your blueberry overnight oats straight from the fridge, no additional preparation needed.

Notes

  • Use any milk you prefer such as almond, soy, or dairy milk to suit your dietary needs.
  • Maple syrup is optional and can be adjusted to taste or omitted for less sweetness.
  • The coconut oil in the chocolate topping helps achieve a smoother consistency but can be skipped if desired.
  • This recipe is best prepared the night before to allow the oats to soak fully and develop flavor.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based yogurt and milk.
