Deliciously gooey cheese stuffed garlic breadsticks that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. These easy-to-make breadsticks feature mozzarella cheese melted inside a garlic-flavored buttery dough, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients

For the Dough and Filling

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese sticks or shredded mozzarella cheese

For the Garlic Butter

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Pinch of salt

For Topping

  • Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking the breadsticks.
  2. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a flat surface into a rectangle large enough to hold the cheese filling.
  3. Add Cheese Filling: Place mozzarella cheese sticks or shredded mozzarella evenly in the center of the rolled dough.
  4. Seal Dough: Fold the dough over the cheese and press firmly along the edges to completely seal the cheese inside, preventing leakage during baking.
  5. Cut Into Strips: Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the sealed dough into strips of your desired width. Place the strips spaced apart on a baking tray.
  6. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter with minced garlic, dried oregano, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to mix all flavors.
  7. Brush Breadsticks: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the top of each breadstick to create a flavorful crust.
  8. Bake: Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.
  9. Optional Parmesan Topping: Remove from oven and sprinkle parmesan cheese over the warm breadsticks for extra savory flavor.
  10. Serve Warm: Serve the breadsticks warm, ideally with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the dough edges well to avoid cheese leakage.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with any melty cheese of your choice.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some dried parsley or chili flakes before baking.
  • These breadsticks are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat before serving.
