Ingredients
Salad
2 cans tuna in oil (drained very well)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp black pepper (add more to taste)
1-2 tbsp finely chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper (or any other color)
1-2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped parsley or dill
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Flake the tuna: Drain the tuna thoroughly, then place it in a large bowl and use a fork to break it up into small flakes for an even texture.
Add the good stuff: Add the chopped red bell pepper, finely chopped onion, chopped parsley or dill, a squeeze of lemon juice, black pepper, and mayonnaise to the bowl with tuna.
Mix it up: Stir all the ingredients together thoroughly until the mixture is creamy and evenly combined.
Taste + tweak: Taste the tuna salad and adjust the seasoning as desired by adding more lemon juice, black pepper, or fresh herbs to enhance the flavor.
Serve or chill: Serve the tuna salad immediately or let it chill in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and improve.
Notes
Drain the tuna very well to avoid a watery salad.
You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
Add celery or cucumber for extra crunch if desired.
Use fresh herbs like dill or parsley to brighten the flavors.
Chilling the salad before serving enhances the flavor.
