Ingredients

Chicken and Noodles

  • 1 (3 pound) whole chicken - cooked, deboned, and shredded
  • 6 ounces spaghetti or egg noodles

Casserole Mixture

  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • ¼ cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Gather Ingredients: Assemble all ingredients needed for the casserole to streamline the preparation process.
  2. Cook Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or egg noodles and cook until al dente, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the noodles thoroughly and set aside.
  3. Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a 9x13-inch baking dish, combine the shredded chicken, cooked noodles, condensed cream of mushroom soup, condensed cream of chicken soup, water, salt, and pepper. Stir well to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  4. Add Cheese Topping: Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the mixture in the baking dish.
  5. Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and has a golden brown color on top.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the casserole to cool briefly before serving to help it set and make it easier to portion.
