This Easy Iced Mexican Coffee is perfect for a quick pick-me-up with a unique Mexican-inspired twist.

Ingredients

Coffee Base

  • ½ cup strong coffee
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (+ more for optional garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¾ cup ice

Garnish and Topping

  • ⅛ teaspoon sea salt (optional garnish)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine Coffee and Spices: In a bowl or large glass, mix the strong coffee with ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and chocolate syrup. Stir thoroughly to ensure the spices and syrup are well incorporated into the coffee.
  2. Add Milk: Pour the ¼ cup of milk into the spiced coffee mixture and stir until fully combined.
  3. Prepare Cream Topping: Using a handheld milk frother, whisk together the heavy cream and sugar until the cream thickens slightly, forming a light and fluffy topping. This will take just a few seconds.
  4. Assemble the Drink: Place the ice into a serving cup. Pour the flavored coffee mixture over the ice, then spoon the whipped cream topping on top of the drink.
  5. Add Garnish (Optional): Lightly dust the cream with additional ground cinnamon and a small pinch of sea salt to enhance the flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed strong coffee to enhance the flavor.
  • The heavy cream topping can be whipped longer for a stiffer consistency if preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of chocolate syrup to your taste preference for sweetness.
  • Sea salt garnish intensifies the chocolate and spice flavors but can be omitted if desired.
  • This recipe serves one but can be easily scaled up for multiple servings.
