This Melt in Your Mouth Caesar Chicken recipe offers a creamy, cheesy twist on classic baked chicken breasts. Coated in Parmesan and a luscious blend of Caesar dressing and sour cream, then baked to golden perfection, it’s a flavorful and tender main dish perfect for dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Cheese

  • 1½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese (divided)

Sauce

  • 1 cup Caesar salad dressing
  • ½ cup sour cream (room temperature, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F and spray the inside of an 8x11½-inch baking pan with nonstick spray to ensure the chicken doesn’t stick.
  2. Pound Chicken: If chicken breasts are uneven in thickness, place them inside a Ziplock bag on a flat surface and gently pound with a meat pounder until even, about ¾ to 1-inch thick. This helps ensure even cooking.
  3. Season Chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with 1 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese and all of the freshly ground black pepper. Lay the breasts evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar salad dressing and the room temperature sour cream to create a rich, creamy sauce.
  5. Add Sauce and Toppings: Pour this Caesar and sour cream mixture evenly over each chicken breast in the dish, then sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of Parmesan cheese on top for a cheesy crust.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the chicken breasts for approximately 30 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part reaches 150°F.
  7. Broil: Turn your oven to broil. Broil the chicken breasts for an additional 2 to 4 minutes until the tops turn golden brown and slightly crispy. Watch closely to prevent burning. The final internal temperature should reach 165°F.
  8. Rest: Remove the chicken from the oven and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute and the chicken to finish cooking gently.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor before serving. Enjoy your tender, flavorful Caesar chicken!

Notes

  • Ensure chicken breasts are pounded to even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • Using freshly grated Parmesan cheese enhances the flavor and texture.
  • Watch carefully during broiling to prevent burning the cheese topping.
  • Letting the chicken rest after baking helps keep it juicy and tender.
  • Caesar dressing can be homemade or store-bought depending on preference.
