Perfect for parties or casual gatherings, these sliders come together quickly with a savory blend of flavors and a satisfying texture.

Ingredients

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons French dressing
  • 2 tablespoons finely minced white onion
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Burgers

  • pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 slices American cheese, cut into fourths (2 squares per burger)

Assembly

  • shredded iceberg lettuce
  • pickle slices
  • 12 slider buns
  • ghee spray (optional)
  • toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, French dressing, finely minced white onion, white vinegar, sugar, and kosher salt. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Prepare the Burgers: In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with kosher salt and black pepper by hand until just combined. Divide the mixture into 12 equal 2-ounce portions.
  3. Shape the Patties: Place one portion of meat between two pieces of wax paper and use the flat bottom of a drinking glass to press the meat thin and flat. Transfer the formed patties to a platter lined with wax paper. Repeat for all portions.
  4. Cook the Patties: Preheat a griddle to 350°F. Once hot, cook the patties in batches if needed. Cook each patty for 3 minutes on the first side, then flip and top each patty with 2 squares of American cheese. Cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts and the patties are cooked through.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: Lightly mist the tops of the slider buns with ghee spray and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if using. Spread a spoonful of the prepared sauce on the inside of each bottom bun. Place a cheeseburger patty on top, then add shredded iceberg lettuce and pickle slices. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pressing the patties thin ensures they cook evenly and replicate the classic slider style.
  • The ghee spray and sesame seeds on the buns add an optional flavor and presentation boost.
  • Use fresh iceberg lettuce for the best crunch and texture.
  • Keep the special sauce refrigerated until assembly to maintain freshness.
  • If you don't have a griddle, a large skillet over medium-high heat can be used instead.
