These delightful Pizza Roses are a fun and creative twist on traditional pizza, made by rolling strips of pizza dough layered with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni into beautiful rose shapes. Perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or family treat, they bake to a golden, cheesy perfection in under 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Pizza Dough

  • 13.4 ounce can of refrigerated pizza crust

Sauce and Cheese

  • 1/2 cup (4 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded low-moisture Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (1 ounce) freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Toppings and Seasoning

  • 6 ounce package of pepperoni slices
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a regular-size muffin pan with paper liners to prepare for baking the pizza roses evenly.
  2. Roll and Cut Dough: On a floured surface, roll the pizza crust to approximately 11 inches by 18 inches. Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into 1 1/2-inch wide strips width-wise.
  3. Layer Ingredients: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly over each dough strip. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Then overlap pepperoni slices over the cheese, allowing 1/4 to 1/2 inch to overhang on one side for rolling.
  4. Add Parmesan and Seasoning: Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning evenly over the pepperoni slices to enhance flavor.
  5. Form Roses: Starting at one long end, carefully roll each strip into a tight coil forming a rosebud shape. Place each rose, pepperoni side up, into the prepared muffin pan lined with paper liners.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated 400°F oven for 17 to 18 minutes or until the roses are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Optionally, remove paper liners before serving. Makes 9 to 10 pizza roses.
