This refreshing Strawberry Lemonade recipe combines the natural sweetness of strawberries with the tangy brightness of lemon juice, enhanced by a homemade simple syrup optionally infused with fragrant rose water. Perfect for a warm day, this fruity beverage is easy to make and wonderfully thirst-quenching.

Ingredients

Simple Syrup

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon rose water (optional)

Lemonade

  • 4 cups water (divided into ½ cup for syrup and 3½ cups for lemonade)
  • 1 pound strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1 cup lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar and ½ cup water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Stir occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture slightly thickens but remains clear, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in the rose water if using, and set aside to cool.
  2. Puree the strawberries: Place the washed and hulled strawberries into a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until the strawberries are completely pureed with no large pieces remaining, approximately 30 seconds. For a smoother texture, strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
  3. Combine and chill: In a large pitcher, mix the strawberry puree, freshly squeezed lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and the remaining 3½ cups of water. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill and allow flavors to meld.
  4. Serve: Pour the chilled strawberry lemonade over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh strawberries or lemon slices if desired, and enjoy this refreshing drink.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar in the simple syrup according to your taste preference.
  • If you prefer a pulp-free lemonade, strain the strawberry puree to remove seeds and pulp.
  • Rose water is optional but adds a subtle floral aroma that enhances the flavor profile.
  • This lemonade is best served chilled and consumed within 2 days for optimal freshness.
