Award-winning and perfect for chocolate lovers, it bakes into a rich, dense dessert that's simple to prepare and stays moist for days.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
  • 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 4 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 12-cup Bundt pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Batter: In a large bowl, beat together the devil's food cake mix, instant chocolate pudding mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, warm water, and eggs until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly blended.
  3. Add Chocolate Chips: Gently stir in the 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  4. Fill Pan: Pour the prepared batter into the greased Bundt pan, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the cake top feels springy to the touch and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool Cake: Allow the cake to cool thoroughly in the pan for at least 1 ½ hours to ensure it sets properly before removing.
  7. Serve: Invert the cake onto a plate and optionally sprinkle powdered sugar on top. Slice and enjoy as is, or serve warm with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries.

Notes

  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, add 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder to the batter.
  • Top each serving with caramel sauce for an indulgent treat.
  • The cake can be served slightly warm and pairs well with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature; the cake stays moist for several days.
