These Turkey Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make party or game day snack featuring savory oven-roasted turkey, melty Swiss or Havarti cheese, and a buttery, tangy topping baked on soft Hawaiian rolls. Perfectly layered and baked to golden perfection, these sliders combine sweet, savory, and tangy flavors with a hint of onion and optional everything bagel seasoning for an irresistible bite.

Ingredients

Sliders

  • 1/2 pound sliced oven roasted turkey
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 10 slices Swiss or Havarti cheese

Sauce and Topping

  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish to prevent the sliders from sticking during baking.
  2. Slice the rolls: Carefully cut the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping all top and bottom halves intact separately so they can be layered properly.
  3. Layer the sliders: Place all the bottom halves of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Evenly distribute the sliced turkey over the bottom rolls, then layer the Swiss or Havarti cheese on top of the turkey in two thin layers, sandwiching the turkey in between. Finally, place all the top halves of the rolls on top.
  4. Make the sauce: In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Whisk in Dijon mustard, packed brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dried minced onion, and salt until the mixture is well combined.
  5. Top the sliders: Pour the prepared buttery sauce evenly over the tops of all the sliders. Add a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning on top if desired for extra flavor.
  6. Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 14 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld. Then uncover and bake for an additional 3 minutes to brown the tops slightly.
  7. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use either Swiss or Havarti cheese according to your preference; both melt well and add a mild, creamy flavor.
  • Keep the roll halves intact when slicing to ensure the sliders hold together nicely.
  • Everything bagel seasoning is optional but adds a great savory crunch and flavor.
  • You can substitute oven roasted turkey with leftover roasted turkey or deli turkey for convenience.
  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the butter sauce.
  • Sliders are best served warm shortly after baking but can be reheated covered in the oven.
